Antibody May Help Fight Lung Cancer

Scientists at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston have discovered a new antibody that might help fight mutated forms of a protein related to lung cancer. In the study, which appears in the Journal of Clinical Investigation, researchers reported that a mouse antibody that binds to the protein EGFR caused the regression of lung tumors caused by mutant forms of the protein. Scientists also found that the humanized form of the mouse antibody caused regression of human lung tumors. Researchers are hopeful that this antibody may lead to new treatments for patients with lung cancer caused by mutant versions of the EFGR prot
