Health and Safety statistics from the HSC

Great Britain’s Health and Safety Commission/Executive (HSC/E) has published the latest statistics on work-related ill health, workplace injury and enforcement in Great Britain. Estimates that are currently being updated of occupational cancer range from 3,000 to 12,000 per year. Deaths from mesothelioma have increased from 153 in 1968 to 1,969 in 2004. Latest projections suggest that deaths will peak somewhere between current levels and 2,450 deaths some time between 2011 and 2015.
